CloudSocket - Business and IT-Cloud Alignment using a Smart Socket
CloudSocket envisions the idea of "Business Process as a Service" (BPaaS), where domain-specific business processes are supported by workflows that optimally match the ICT support for the selected process. The ICT support is expected to be realized by available platforms or software components from PaaS or SaaS platforms. CloudSocket introduces the BPaaS concept that fulfills the business process needs thanks to smart alignment techniques, packages this BPaaS as "extended Cloudlets" that are autonomously deployable and include adaptive rules to appropriately react in a multi-cloud environment by keeping SLAs and process-based billing. Hence, the vision is to "plug business" into the "Cloud".
CloudSocket is funded by the European Commission in the Horizon 2020 Framework (Grant agreement ID: 644690).

LearnPAd - Model-Based Social Learning for Public Administrations
Learn PAd will build an innovative holistic e-learning platform for PAs that enables process-driven learning and fosters cooperation and knowledge-sharing. Learn PAd technical innovation is based on four pillars: 1. a new concept of model-based e-learning (both process and knowledge), 2. open and collaborative e-learning content management, 3. automatic, learner-specific and collaborative content quality assessment, 4. automatic model-driven simulation-based learning and testing. Learn PAd considers learning and working strongly intertwined (learning while doing). The platform supports both an informative learning approach based on enriched business process (BP) models, and a procedural learning approach based on simulation and monitoring (learning by doing).
LearnPAd is funded by the European Commission, Technology-Enhanced Learning (Grant agreement ID: 619583).

APPRIS- integrated early warning system for supply risk and opportunities using semantic technologies
oday, every company is confronted with the management of procurement risks: however, this is usually done late and therefore reactively. From the integration of risk, procurement and knowledge management, a continuous, systematic and efficient early warning system will emerge in the present project. By integrating, selecting and tracking external information based on semantic technologies, suitable early risk indicators will be determined, which will draw attention to changes in the supply network and its environment and which will be proactively managed via adapted SC strategies and processes. In order to ensure a meaningful use of such an early warning system in practice, procurement must have the necessary strategic concepts and adequate processes in addition to the IT solution, which are also being developed in this project. APPRIS was funded by the Commission for Technology and Innovation CTI (Innosuisse). .

plugIT - Business and IT Alignment using a Model-Based Plug-in Framework
Today we are witnessing the necessity to align Business and Information Technology (IT) and a respective change in the role that IT plays for businesses. IT is changing its role from an enabler to an industrial sector in its own right -providng IT infrastructure and services to any business. Based on the assumption that businesses in different sectors of the economy will require IT for different reasons and in different ways, this project aspires to develop an IT-Socket that will realize the vision of businesses "plugging-in" to IT. Model-based approaches and ITGovernance are prominent candidates to bridge evolving business contexts and IT. This challenge can be met by capitalizing on semantic technologies for IT-Governance.
plugIT is a focused research project (STREP), funded by the European Commission (Grant agreement ID: 231430).

MATURE - Continuous Social Learning in Knowledge Networks
Agility requires that companies and their employees together and mutually dependently learn and develop their competencies efficiently. For that agility we need to leverage the intrinsic motivation of employees to engage in collaborative learning activities, and combine it with a new form of organisational guidance. For that purpose, MATURE conceives individual learning processes to be interlinked in a knowledge-maturing process in which knowledge changes in nature. The goal of MATURE is to understand this maturing process better, based on empirical studies, and to build tools and services to reduce maturing barriers.
MATURE is a large-scale integrating project (IP), funded by the European Commission, Unit for Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL).
